So I bought these two items this month. I wanted to get a 1440p 144Hz monitor, and found this one on sale for $350 with freesync.

Then found out that my old 280X didn't support freesync, but since there were some games I owned that ran like crap on my current card, I upgraded it to a 390X.

I am kinda stunned at how poorly the 280X performs nowadays in some games like Witcher 3, and Doom. The 390X blows it out of the water. And the new monitor is simply stunning, I have never seen a monitor like this one, 1440p at 144Hz is incredible, can never ever go back to 60Hz!

May want to return the card, there are rumors that the 480 is pretty strong and only 200 bucks. NDA lifts in a couple of days.

I don't mind living with my 390X, even if it cost me more. Plus I am hearing things about the 480 not getting enough power from just having a single 6 pin connector, and it frying mother boards when people OC it. People have said however, that the actual OC potential is insane.

Looks like Sapphire will be making a version of the 480 with an 8 pin connector, so that would solve that problem.
